Lullwire Relay
A small, end-to-end encrypted messenger with voice and video calls. No accounts, no phone numbers, no app store. You run the relay yourself: on a spare phone, a small server or ordinary web hosting.
Free and open source (AGPL-3.0). Android app, web app, and relays for Linux, Windows, Mac and Raspberry Pi.
What you get
Private from the first message
Conversations use a Double Ratchet with forward secrecy, so a stolen device can't open messages captured earlier.
The relay can't see who wrote
Messages carry a sealed sender and are padded to size classes. The relay only holds envelopes it can't open.
Calls without exposing your address
Voice and video calls are encrypted end to end and travel through your relay, so neither side sees the other's IP address.
Looks like an ordinary website
With a private path and a join code, your relay shows a plain front page to everyone you haven't invited.
No sign-up
Your identity is a key made on your device. Add people by QR code or invite link, and check safety numbers once.
Get your account back
Eight recovery words restore your profile on any device, from an encrypted backup the relay can't read.
Experimental and not independently audited. It uses standard building blocks but has had only internal review. If your safety depends on your messages, use Signal or SimpleX instead.
